The department (state) of Piura is the center for witchcraft in north Peru. With this there are ancestral ties in families here that date back for quite sometime. The “Christian Missionary Alliance Church” have done a study,and based on its demographics they have determined that Piura has a 1% population of evangelical Christians, with the majority obviously situated in the cities. This shows us that the department (state) of Piura is the least evangelized department (state) in Peru. The further away from the cities the numbers of believers drop dramatically. The harvest is ripe, but the labor is difficult.

There are many facets of ministry here in Piura. These facets all done through three primary avenues. They are: Casa de Dio, the local church in Piura that we started in May 2006; Piscán and Piscán Alto, the mountain ministry of Casa de Dios and the prison ministry in Rio Seco here in Piura. Under the Ministry heading above you will find web pages for each ministry and their different outreaches.

It is in these pages that you can see in what ways Casa de Dios is affecting the city of Piura. In Piscán you can see how Casa de Dios is effecting Andes Mountains. In the prison we are changing men’s lives with the gospel and discipleship. All of this is a direct result of God and his mercy that we receive through Jesus Christ. Together we are bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and raising up men and women strong in the Lord.
